What to expect

If you have not experienced counselling before then it can perhaps feel a bit scary and you may be wondering what will happen. Hopefully I can allay any fears you may have here.

We will meet in my welcoming therapy room and this will provide a safe, private, undisturbed space where you can talk in confidence about personal issues on a regular basis. This is an opportunity for you to talk about any of the things that are troubling you. You will lead the pace and be completely in control of the sessions; I will not make you talk about, or do, anything that you do not want to do as I believe that you know yourself best.

Counselling does not provide magic answers; I truly believe that you have the answers within you and counselling helps you to access them. I will be there for you, accepting you without judgement. In being able to talk without being judged, you have the opportunity to gain insight and make connections. This enables you to listen to your intuition, helping you make decisions that are right for you.

You might come for a short or fixed number of sessions to look at a specific issue, or on an open-ended basis. Open-ended or longer term counselling may be of greater benefit in working on deeper, longer term issues. The length of our contract will be discussed in our initial meeting to decide which would be more beneficial, and can be reviewed at any time during our work together.

Daytime, some evening and Saturday appointments available.

If you have any further queries then please do call or e-mail me, I am happy to answer any questions you may have.
